At next Tuesday's HOA Board meeting, an SDG&E representative will be attending to discuss their upcoming project -- construction of the South Orange County Reliability Enhancement (SOCRE) project. I'm relaying below information they have provided to us so that you may take a minute to familiarize yourself with the impact this project will have on our community during this construction phase. I will recap the additional Q&A's from the meeting and send out an update email next week, however, I encourage everyone to attend the meeting in person so that you can ask any questions you may have. Attached is the project map that provides an overview of the work that was approved by the Caifornia Public Utilities Commission. To paraphrase from the SDG&E email:
"As part of this project, SDG&E’s contractors will be removing one 138kV transmission line between the San Juan Capistrano Substation and the Talega Substation and replacing it with a new 230kV transmission line. Of particular concern to your community, will be replacement of the underground section of the transmission system from the SDG&E poles located by the Via Pamplona entrance and going east on Stallion Ridge to our poles located between La Pata and Via Granada."
"SDG&E expects to begin construction in early 2020. Construction days and hours worked will be coordinated as best we can to take into consideration the traffic congestion on Stallion Ridge due to San Juan Hills High School start and end hours and typical morning and afternoon traffic patterns to and from your community. To take advantage of the Winter School break at the end of this year, our contractor is considering installing a new vault on the south side of Stallion Ridge (see map yellow vault marked U109340)."
